Our Under 18s have reformed after a season out and will once again this season be competing in the Western Counties Floodlit League. Fixtures are yet to be released but we took this opportunity to catch up with manager Dave Griffin for his thoughts on the year ahead.

So Dave, how is it going so far?

"It’s great to have our U18’s finally off & running, We had our 1st team meet up on Saturday 8th of July that went well with a couple of the lads meeting their new teammates for the 1st time.

Have you started training yet?

"Yes, we completed our 1st training session alongside the Reserves & 3rd’s last week.
Things really are falling into place nicely with our squad for the new season with a few new faces still to arrive over the coming weeks. I'm keen the lads integrate within the wider club as that has been an issue with previous Under 18s squads and with me working alongside Mitch Jones running the 3rds on a Saturday this season my aim is to have the lads who want to playing for the Seniors and in time, the first team has to be their aim "

Are their any friendlies booked?

"Yes, we currently have two friendlies booked in - 23rd August away to Red Falcon U18’s at Fry’s Pavilion KO tbc, then we are at home to Radstock on 31st of August 7:30pm ko. I'll make sure we announce any further games as soon as they are confirmed."

And so Dave, any final thoughts?

"Only to say I am looking forward to the new season ahead with this great bunch of lads. I really can't wait to get started."
